Delete your account & data
You can delete your data at any time
Coco stores most of your data on your device, and (after you sign in) keeps a synced copy on our servers. Because of this, deleting your data has two parts: clearing the on-device copy, and requesting deletion of the synced copy.
Important: The in-app "Erase all my data" option clears only the data stored locally on your device. It does not delete data that has already been synced to our servers. To remove the server-side copy, send us a deletion request (Step 2).
Step 1 — Erase data on your device
1 Open Coco and go to the Profile tab.
2 Open Settings / Privacy and choose "Erase all my data".
3 Confirm. This removes your locally stored moods, journals, check-ins, and chat history from this device.
You can also uninstall the app to remove the local data. Neither of these affects data already synced to our servers.
Step 2 — Request full deletion of synced data & account
To permanently delete your account and any data synced to our servers (Firebase / Firestore) — including your profile, mood logs, journals and check-ins — send a request:
Email: rodriguescarson@gmail.com (developer contact)
Subject: Coco data deletion request
Please send from the email address associated with your account, or include it in the message, so we can locate and verify your account. We will confirm once your account and synced data have been deleted.
What gets deleted
- Your account and authentication record (Firebase user ID).
- Your profile (name, email, optional gender).
- Your synced mood logs, journals, and daily check-ins.
- Associated analytics events tied to your account.
Chat messages sent to the AI listener are processed transiently by our AI provider to generate replies and are not stored in an identifiable, account-linked profile by Coco. Some records may be retained briefly where required for security, abuse prevention, or legal compliance, then deleted.
Anonymous use
If you used Coco without signing in, your data was never synced to our servers — completing Step 1 (or uninstalling) fully removes it.
Not a medical or emergency service
Coco is not a medical, therapy, or emergency service. If you are in crisis or may be in danger, contact your local emergency services or a crisis helpline immediately.
